The "Glee" star posted a 15-second Instagram teaser on Wednesday (January 8). It opens with a shot of Michele as she sings the emotional, piano-driven song to camera.
Michele, dressed in a black crop top and flowing skirt, moves around a broken-down piano in an abandoned room. The sun streams in from boarded windows. Hanging pink lights surround her as she sings, "I'll fly, I'll fly, I'll fly like a cannonball."
"Oh my gosh, I can't even deal right now, perfect! I adore you and this song!!=)<33," @TiffanyZeyer tweeted.
@imapinkunicorn said, "Can't wait ´till tomorow I'm so proud of what you have done you're an inspiration for us, well done baby you're the best! Cannonball is amazing and the video will be perfect too, we love you."
Michele filmed the video last month, and tweeted that she was back in the studio gearing up for "Glee's" 100th episode (airing in March). She recently spoke with MTV News about the emotional lead single, which she calls her "anthem," and how it helped her heal following the tragic death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith.
"The minute I heard the song, I had a physical reaction to it. For me, it's been my strength," she said of the song, which was co-written by Sia and Benny Blanco and produced by Stargate."I listen to it every day. I know it was brought into my life for a reason. It's really been so helpful for me and I hope it's the same for other people as it's been for me."
