The first trailer for Christopher Nolan's newest film "Interstellar" has just gone online, and while it shows essentially as little of the actual movie as possible, we can't help but get outrageously excited about it.
Check out the brand-new trailer for Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" below.
"Interstellar" is the director's first movie based on an original concept since 2010's "Inception," and the little we know of the story already has us thinking that it might be just as much of a mind-melter as his dream heist story.
The project began as a screenplay by Nolan's brother Jonathan, who was also a writer on his "Dark Knight" films. Jonathan Nolan had developed the script based on the work of Cal Tech astrophysicist Kip Thorne, and Stephen Spielberg was attached to direct for some time.
Once the project landed with Christopher Nolan, he rewrote the screenplay, keeping the principal ideas from his brother's original draft.
A rumored logline, which now seems at least partially confirmed by the trailer, hinted at a near-future setting where corn has become the only growable crop in the world. While that storyline hasn't been confirmed, the plant is featured nearly as prominently as the movie's leading man, Matthew McConaughey, who provides a moving voice-over for the preview.
Thorne is notable for his work in theoretical physics, specifically black holes and how they could be used for time travel.
An enormous group of A-listers join McConaughey in the cast. They include Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine and David Oyelowo.
