Taylor Swift Spends 24th B'Day Like A Royal: Dinner With Lorde, Cats, And Golden Globe Nod

Swift and pals, including the 'Royals' singer, joined up in Australia for a memorable birthday celebration.

Taylor Swift is Down Under for her 24th birthday, but that didn't stop her from celebrating.

In fact, the singer, who officially turned the big 2-4 on Friday (December 13), has been partying for a few days now while in Australia for her Red Tour. She made sure to catch up with New Zealander Lorde for a hangout session. (Swift will take a tour hiatus after Saturday's show in Melbourne, and then kick off another leg of the globe-spanning trek in February.)

So far, Swift seems to be ringing in 24 in a big way. On Thursday, Swift found out she was nominated for Best Original Song- Motion Picture at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. She shares the nom with Fun.'s Jack Antonoff for their track, "Sweeter Than Fiction" off the "One Chance" soundtrack.

Swift also got an adorable card from her cat Meredith (via her mom), which she shared with fans online. Her surprising dinner guest was none other than Lorde, who had reason to celebrate too, after MTV named her "Royals" the Best Song of 2013. The two pop stars and some pals were spotted getting food at Hibatchi Japanese Grill in Melbourne, according to the Daily Mail.

In photos posted online, Swift, in a red dress, and sips on red wine as she chats with the "Team" singer. This is just the latest hangout session for the ladies: Swift and Lorde, 17, were first photographed hanging out together in November in NYC.
