First 'Anchorman 2' Clip: Ron Explains Why God Put Him On This Earth

In 'The Legend Continues,' Ron accepts an opportunity to lead a 24-hour news network.

Ron Burgundy is back to do what he was put on this earth to do: "have salon-quality hair and read the news."

That's what he says in the first clip from "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," which just went online. You can watch the clip below!

The scene from the sequel sees San Diego's best newsman, played by Will Ferrell, meeting with a producer from GNN, a brand-new 24-hour news network that is about to start up in New York City. The GNN rep, played by Dylan Baker, wants Ron to leave behind his days on the local news.

It only takes a little packet full of a lot of money to convince Ron that a move to Manhattan is the right thing to do, and that decision sets off the action of what is guaranteed to be another insane adventure with the Channel 4 news team.

In "Anchorman: The Legend Continues," Ron, Brian Fontana, Brick Tamland and Champ Kind set out to cross the country to lead the 24-hour news revolution. As we saw in previous trailers, that trip hits a small snag when Ron mistakes cruise control for autopilot, sending their RV and their bowling balls, deep fryer and scorpion terrarium tumbling.

The sequel to the 2004 hit has been a long time in the making, but when it hits theaters next week, on December 18, "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" will attempt to match the absurd success of the original. The sequel, also in the tradition of the original, will feature a number of cameos, but we'll let you figure those out when you see the movie.

"Anchorman: The Legend Continues" opens in theaters on December 18.
