Jamie Lynn Spears' 'Second Baby' Isn't What You'd Expect

Britney's sister spills on the moment she learned she was pregnant.

Former teen star Jamie Lynn Spears has kept a relatively low profile since giving birth to her daughter Maddie in 2008. The onetime Nick star is now back on the scene thanks to her upcoming duet with big sister, Britney Spears, on Britney Jean, as well as the forthcoming release of her own album.

With so much on the horizon, the 22-year-old sat down with E! News to open up about stepping out of the limelight to raise her daughter, recalling the day she learned she was pregnant.

"One day, me and my friend were riding around in my mom's little convertible and I had not been feeling well. I thought it was just stress with work and all kinds of different things. My friend was like, 'Why don't you just take a test?' I was like, 'OK, I will.'

"We were filling up with gas, so I went in the gas station and took the test and it was positive," she added. "So that is the glamorous way that I found out I was going to have my little nugget!"

However, the then-teenager had no plans to become a mom at 17. She said, "I thought my next step was moving in the next part of my career. That's what I felt I was going to be doing and this made no sense. This made no sense and I didn't understand it and I was young."

In the years since giving birth and leaving her TV show, "Zoey 101," Spears has been trying to start her music career, living part time in Nashville to work on her country music debut and now appearing with Brit on "Chillin' With You".

"I think that now it's like real. It's like being like 'Oh my gosh! I'm going to have a baby.' It's seeing it all here and it's real," she says of her music. "It's like, 'Oh my goodness, I'm really gonna do this.' And it is; it is. It's like my second baby."

In addition to her sit-down with E!, she also chatted with her fans on Twitter, revealing that her favorite color is green, one of her guilty pleasures is any food with salt and that her new music is "coming straight from my heart!"
