Fans of three of the CW's newest series should rejoice: "The Originals," "The Tomorrow People" and "Reign" have all been picked up for more episodes by the network.
According to Variety, the three rookie dramas will now get full seasons, bringing their episode count to 22 each.
"We're excited about the creative momentum the producers have established for all three of our new series, and now our fans will have the chance to see the full stories unfold for them this season," CW president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement. "With the additional episodes ordered, plus two new dramas and new reality for midseason, we'll be able to continue our commitment to adding more original programming all year long."
"The Originals," which airs Tuesday nights, hit the network this fall as a "Vampire Diaries" spin-off with a focus on the original vampire family and their strife in New Orleans. Meanwhile, the Wednesday-night series "The Tomorrow People" is a remake of a British sci-fi TV show of the same name from the 1970s about X-Men-like young people. "Reign" (airing Thursdays) is a drama focused on teen queen Mary, Queen of Scots and her move to France.
Shortly after the news was announced, Joseph Morgan, who plays "The Originals" resident bad boy vamp Klaus, tweeted about his series getting picked up. "You can dagger them, burn them, put them in a box, but they just keep comin' back to bite ya. #TheOriginals 22 episodes," he tweeted. "So happy. Thank you."
