Lorde, Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone: Who’ll Win Fan Award At 2013 MTV EMA?

Cher Lloyd and Cody Simpson also up for Artist on the Rise Award on November 10 show airing at 7 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

The ball’s in your court. If Lorde comes out on top, or if she’s beaten out by Ariana Grande or Austin Mahone, the only one you have to blame is yourself.

Which is why you need to get on it and start tweeting your choice for the inaugural Artist on the Rise Award Presented by new 5 Focus gum at the upcoming 2013 MTV EMA.

It’s the first socially driven award in the show’s history and it will also give Cody Simpson and Bridgit Mendler a chance to get in on the action at the November 10 show, going down at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, and set to broadcast in the U.S. at 7 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Beginning today (November 4), you can vote using Twitter, Instagram and Vine for all five using these hashtags: Lorde (#votelorde), Ariana Grande (#votearianagrande), Austin Mahone (#voteaustinmahone), Cher Lloyd (#votecherlloyd), Cody Simpson (#votecodysimpson) and Bridgit Mendler (#votebridgitmendler). Keep up with the competition at ArtistOnTheRise.MTV.com. The EMAs will take place in Amsterdam a few hours before the U.S. airing, but the Artist on the Rise award gives U.S. fans a global stake in the show, with voting open until the moment the winner is announced on the American telecast.

Miley Cyrus is set to perform at the show on a star-studded bill that also includes Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Kings of Leon, Robin Thicke, Imagine Dragons, Afrojack, Snoop Dogg and Icona Pop.

Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the field of EMA nominees with five nods each, followed by Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Cyrus and Thicke, with four apiece. Taylor Swift, Mars, Thirty Seconds to Mars and One Direction are also in the running for multiple awards.

As if that’s not enough, Grande will serve as the backstage host and Ron Burgundy himself (Will Ferrell from “Anchorman 2″) will drop by for a special appearance.

Fans can vote for EMA categories such as Best New, Best Live and more at MTVEMA.com or m.mtvema.com on their mobile phones. Voting for EMA categories is open now until 11:59PM CET on November 8.
