The “Pretty Little Liars” may have celebrated Halloween last week , during a very revealing episode of the ABC Family series, but that doesn’t mean the cast has put Halloween behind them just yet.
When MTV News spoke to the “PLL” stars earlier this month, they revealed some of their own best and worst trick-or-treating tales. And, from the sounds of it, scary stuff isn’t just happening to the cast when the cameras are rolling.
“What’s the worst [treat] I got? I don’t know; I haven’t done it in a while,” Drew Van Acker said. “I think for some reason the worst thing I got that’s sticking out in my mind was I got an apple one time. And as a kid that’s the last thing you want when you’re trick-or-treating was an apple. But I guess that’s what they do in New Jersey when you’re trick-or-treating. So, I don’t know, but kids want candy. We want sugar. We want the good stuff.”
While Acker grew up afraid he might get some fruit, Lucy Hale revealed what worried her most when she hit the streets looking for sweet treats. “Well, I always get freaked out when people give out things that aren’t wrapped,” she said. “Like, somebody gave out cupcakes once and that just kind of freaks me out. I want it to be already pre-wrapped and individually wrapped because I’ve heard some horror stories before.”
Well, Acker and Hale may have wanted to go out with co-star Troian Bellisario, who fondly recalled her days of scouting the neighborhood for treats that resulted in very little tricks.
“I don’t think I really got anything bad trick-or-treating. I grew up around Toluca Lake, and for anybody who doesn’t know Toluca Lake it’s this area in L.A. that like goes all out. Halloween houses, haunted houses, every street, incredible candy,” she said. “And we used to just take home trash bags of candy. So even if you got something kind of bad, that was like a lame gummy thing, you always got banging candy at the next house.”
“Pretty Little Liars” is on hiatus and will return to ABC Family on January 7.
