Britney Spears may have been the Femme Fatale on her last album, but come December, she's going back to her roots. The singer's [article id="1714200"]December 3 album release[/article] will be called Britney Jean.
The [article id="1715494"]"Work Bitch" singer[/article] confirmed the news in an interview with U.K. radio station Capital FM on Tuesday (October 15). Jean is Spears' middle name. "It's called Britney Jean. It's a personal album, and all my family, they always call me Britney Jean," she shared. "It's like a term of endearment, and I just wanted to share that with my fans."
While the album is being executive produced by will.i.am, Spears wouldn't share if there will be any collaborations on the release. Spears recently appeared on Miley Cyrus' album Bangerz on the song [article id="1715224"]"SMS,"[/article] but didn't elaborate if the 20-year-old had returned the favor. She would only share, "You'll have to wait and see!"
Spears' longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, dished to MTV News about the album, [article id="1715085"]promising that Britney Jean[/article] would delve deeper than just the singer's feisty lead single.
"The album definitely is not just 'Work Bitch,' " Rudolph said earlier this month. "This is a situation where there are multiple, multiple layers, things like you've never heard from her before. There's a lot that fans expect, but a lot that they don't ... She's written on every song on the album, which is a first for her, and it's a very personal album for her, and I think people are going to love it."
The album will hit retailers just weeks before she's slated to start her [article id="1714335"]two-year residency at Planet Hollywood[/article] in Las Vegas on December 27.
