Drake Reinventing Toronto Raptors With New Exec Job

Drizzy nabs a spot with the NBA team as a clothes designer and 'global ambassador.'

Drake: singer, rapper, October's Very Own CEO and now, Toronto Raptors executive?

On Monday (September 30), Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment announced the NBA team-up with Drake, who just released his Nothing was the Same album last week. At his new gig, he'll design a line of clothing for the team's brand, he'll redesign their appearance for the 20th anniversary of the team for the 2014-2015 season, and he'll be a host at the 2016 NBA All-Star game, an honor the Raptors just agreed to.

The Toronto Star reported that the team is putting everything on the table for change (excluding the name, of course) and that their template is the Brooklyn Nets, a team Jay Z had shares in until he had to give them up to become a sports promoter with Roc Nation Sports.

Drizzy celebrated the news on Instagram, first snapping a photo of his front-page Star story and using the hashtags #NEWVISION and #416. "ALL STAR 2016 in TORONTO #NewVision#AllHailLeiweke #ILoveMyJob," he wrote alongside a photo of a press conference. "Leiwke" refers to the head honcho of MLSE, which owns the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Raptors and Toronto FC. He hashtagged at photo of Leiwke with #MyNewBoss.
