During the chat, she revealed that her [article id="1700081"]split from fiancé Jason Trawick[/article] served as inspiration for the release. "Well during this album, I had a breakup with Jason that I went through that I wrote a lot about," she explained during her sit-down on the show. "They suck. Breakups suck, they do."
The January split is something will.i.am urged [article id="1706646"]Spears to delve into[/article] on the upcoming album, which he is executive producing.
During her sit-down with "GMA," Spears also teased that a ballad will appear on the album, her follow-up to 2011's Femme Fatale. "I love the 'Perfume' song. It's really beautiful," she said. "I like that song a lot. It's a ballad."
In addition to her own December 3 album release, Spears will also appear on Miley Cyrus' October 8 album, Bangerz, on the track [article id="1714039"]"SMS (BANGERZ)."[/article] She weighed in on the 20-year-old's [article id="1714004"]buzzy VMA performance[/article] from last month, having had a few of her own over the years.
"I think any time you do a performance that is that memorable you're going to have criticism," she said. "I think she's doing her thing. She's being herself, so I give props to her." (Days before Cyrus drops her album she will premiere her MTV documentary, "Miley: The Movement," on October 2.)
When Spears wasn't opening up about her upcoming projects, she also dished a bit about her personal life, including who she had her first kiss with. Hint: his last name is Timberlake and he's got an album out later this month.
"Oh my god! Maybe [I was] 13," she said with a smile. "It was Justin."
