2 Chainz Fuels September Album With ‘Gasoline’

'That's gonna be a good week, man,' 2 Chainz tells MTV News of the days surrounding his September 10 release.

All 2 Chainz wanted for his birthday last year was a big-booty girl, but in 2013, a new album is at the top of his b-day wish list. On September 10, Deuce plans to release his as-yet-untitled sophomore album. If the date sticks, it will come at a very special time: Chainz was born on September 12.

“Yeah man, I’m a Virgo so that should be cool, man,” he told MTV News on Thursday when we caught him in Atlanta on the set of B.o.B’s “Headband” music video. But that’s not all. “And I just found out Floyd will be fighting the 14th, so that’s gonna be a good week, man,” he said of the big boxing match between the undefeated champion Floyd Mayweather and rising star Canelo Alvarez.

“We should all celebrate the week of the 10th man, I’m just really… adding gasoline or adding steroids to what I was already doing as far as locking own the club, locking down the streets,” Chainz added. “Just really giving it to you from my heart man and also enjoying life, enjoying getting this paper. You feel me?”

On Sunday night, 2 Chainz treated Summer Jam fans to something exclusive. Not only did he surprise fans and bring out Nicki Minaj to the very concert she boycotted last year, he also gave the crowd a first listen to his new single “Feds Watching.”

The track doesn’t officially drop on iTunes until Tuesday, but Chainz bopped excitedly to the reggae-tinged track onstage, and judging from the crowd’s reaction, the world is ready for some new Chainz.

Mentally been many places, but I'm Brooklyn's own. Hip-hop gives me life!
