Nicki, Mariah Fans Praise Singers For Choosing Music Over 'American Idol'

Barbz and Lambs take to Twitter to show just how 'excited' they are to hear new music and catch their idols on tour.

Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey pulled a double-whammy on Thursday when they both announced their departures from "American Idol." The news came weeks after longtime "Idol" vet Randy Jackson confirmed his exit.

While much remains unclear, including Keith Urban's fate as a judge, host Ryan Seacrest had some departing words for the two divas, who spent a majority of their joint one-season stint in a very public cat fight. "thx for the run @mariahcarey and @nickiminaj... we'll miss u," he wrote shortly after they each made their announcements. "so whose mirror do i use now... and where will i get glitter from."

Both Carey and Minaj are leaving the show to put the focus back on their music careers. Carey had her Lambs overjoyed when she confirmed her plans for a world tour. ‏@Antony93 wrote, "OMG! Is it true? @MariahCarey is gonna leave for a World Tour? Sooo POW! I'm excited! #L4L !"

With Carey keeping her fans waiting on details about the trek and her forthcoming 2013 album release, one fan noted that her decision to leave was hardly shocking. "no surprise here," @LauraSaltman wrote. "Smart decision but still sad."

Minaj's Barbz were equally overjoyed that the feisty MC is hard at work on new music. @ryansvengali wrote, "@NICKIMINAJ IIIII AAMMM READDDYY FOR THE F---ING MUUSSSSIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCC. YOU HAVE NO IIIIDDDEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH."

However excited her fans are for her next chapter, they were also appreciative of her stint on the reality show. "Yass @AmericanIdol thank you for letting @NICKIMINAJ B in the show," @IvanAlmazo wrote. "We that Barbs appreciate it and wanna say ... Thank You."

With so much of the show's fate up in the air and rumors circulating about who might sit at the judges' table next, viewers are teetering on whether they will even watch season 13.

"Yes!! Stopped watching when Simon left! All about the judges now!! Can't STAND that show anymore!! #itsovera #whocares," ‏@KimberlyRosent wrote, with @HenneyG adding, "good! They should just cancel that show already!"
