By now, you are probably aware that Ke$ha and Pitbull are hitting the road together this summer, on a double-bill that promises plenty of pop hits. But you probably have no idea how the two managed to team up … and, as it turns out, they’re not really sure either.
But, as is often the case with all things Ke$ha, there was definitely booze involved.
“One day, [Pitbull and I] were backstage, drinking tequila, kind of f—ing around, and we’re talking hypotheticals ’We should go on tour together; I’ll sing a song in Spanish, how about that?’ And he said ’Okay,'” Ke$h told MTV News. “And then, like a month later, it happened in real life … so, how’s it going to work? I have no f—ing idea! But is it going to be fun? Yeah. F— yeah.”
And truth be told, the paring isn’t as strange as you might think; after all, Ke$ha guested on Pitbull’s song “Girls” way back in 2009, and he’s just remixed her current single “Crazy Kids.” But what the two truly bonded over was positivity … and a love of partying, both of which Ke$h said will be on display this summer.
“I think that the reason I decided to tour with Pitbull is because we’ve worked together, and the first time we met, we had a very cool thing happening, but I was like ’Aw, I’ll never see him again.’ And then I kept on seeing him!” she said. “And the more we saw each other, the more we got along, and I realized that actually, we’re incredibly similar; he just likes to have a good time and he’s a super positive person, and I’m a really positive person who likes to get weird and wild.”
