Machine Gun Kelly's mtvU Woodies Speech: Watch It Now!

You saw a piece of the Cleveland rapper's Woodie of the Year acceptance speech, but now you can watch the whole thing.

Machine Gun Kelly made no secret of the fact that he really wanted to [article id="1703683"]win the Woodie of the Year[/article] at the 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards. After tasting success last year by taking home the Breaking Woodie, this year's co-host was gunning (no pun intended) for the follow-up victory.

Well, on Thursday, [article id="1703720"]his wish came true[/article]: Machine Gun Kelly beat Kendrick Lamar, Fun. and four other artists to win the night's top honor. And while fans got a taste of his heartfelt acceptance speech during Sunday's 40-minute Woodies special on MTV and mtvU, now we have the entire thing for your viewing (and re-viewing) pleasure. He had a lot to say about his loyal supporters, and we're pretty sure you feel just as strongly about him.

[article id="1703824"]Macklemore, Zedd and more heat up the mtvU Woodie Awards stage![/article]

Here's the full text from MGK's victory speech:

"I want to thank Jen Zeller, MTV, the city of Cleveland, my EST fam, my management and my beautiful daughter, she's watching right now. Daddy loves you.

"I wrote a speech. Let me just say, this is a big deal to me, man. When I began making music as a kid, I never grasped that it could bring you materials or money or women, because as a kid, I never wanted anything more than an escape, and that still holds true to this day. I may not own a car, I may not own a house, I may not have sold the most records, and I may not be loved by journalists, critics or the mainstream in general, but what I do have is the people. And that to me is worth more than any platinum plaque, any magazine cover, any top 10 MC list. And if you want proof, you can direct your attention to my hand, because we got the Woodie of the mother----ing Year!

"Last but not least, I want to thank my fans, because they're crazy, they're relentless, they're misunderstood, and I love you for it, and I'm honored to have you guys by my side. And as for respect in this industry, you guys don't have to give it, because we're about to take it this year. The revolution's begun. Black Flag!"
