Zedd brought the 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards to a close Thursday with a "dusty and lusty" performance. To find out exactly what that means, you'll have to tune in tonight (March 17) when our half-hour mtvU Woodies special airs at 8 p.m. on MTV and mtvU.
Before his set, the EDM producer said South by Southwest was full of "great people, good weather and good times," and he was pumped about being chosen to close the mtvU Woodies festivities.
"It's the biggest honor to be nominated for that, in combination with being able to perform here and close the night," the Breaking Woodie nominee said. "It's pretty much everything I could ever ask for, so I'm really, really happy."
Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt ended up snagging the Woodie instead, but Zedd has so many projects coming out soon that he might get another chance to take one home next year.
"I just started working on my next album," he said. "I made an amazing song with an amazing band, which I can't announce yet, but that's kind of the direction I want to go. I want to be able to make music with bands and singers that don't fit my music at all, like Adele, for example."
Zedd also teased a song with Ellie Goulding, and he's producing Lady Gaga's new album, ARTPOP.
