Justin Bieber, will.i.am's '#thatpower' Comes 'Alive' With New Track

Bieber proclaims 'I'm alive' on the latest single off will's solo album '#willpower'.

Needing a new dance track to add to your weekend playlist? Well you might want to check out the new will.i.am single, "#thatpower," featuring his pal Justin Bieber.

The track follows in the footsteps of many will.i.am singles before with its thumping club beat, dirty synths, A-list cameo and lots of lyrical swagger about overcoming adversity.

Bieber brings his sweet vocals to the chorus, where he proclaims, "Oooh/I'm alive/I'm alive/And ohhh/ I can fly/ I can fly/ I can fly... And I'm loving every second/ minute/ hour/ bigger/ better/strong /power." The chorus' vibe certainly recalls Kanye West's 2010 hit, "Power."

will premiered the song on U.K. radio station Capital FM on Friday (March 15), where he opened up about the day he and Bieber created it.

He recalled, "So actually we went shopping first and we were like 'hey, let's just have a chilled day' and we went shopping for shoes, then after that we went to the studio, watched the BRITs [last month], recorded that and then trucked off to see Justin Timberlake perform. So that was a pretty full day.

"It's up-tempo, it's Friday. I'm proud of the collaboration," he added.

Earlier this week, will came to Justin's defense as the teen singer continues to [article id="1703642"]speak out against the media and paparazzi.[/article] The BEP rapper/producer told the radio station, "Give the guy some space and let him just grow up. He's a good kid. He has a good mum. He has good friends around him. I'd say just be a little bit sensitive to people and their individual space. He's already sharing his life with us, right?"

Bieber has long been attached to will's project. A [article id="1692585"]track list[/article] for the album made its rounds last August. Bieber was featured on that song list, but on a track called "Flyin." will later shot down the reports to MTV News calling any early track lists "hocus-pocus bogus."

Last summer, what wasn't "hocus-pocus bogus" was will's enthusiasm about working with [article id="1690336"]Justin on the album[/article]. "I like him because he's going to be around for a long time," he told us. "And he's really talented."

"#thatpower" is the next single off will's solo album, [article id="1701000"]#willpower[/article], out next month. In addition to his collaboration with Bieber, the album features his single with [article id="1697635"]Britney Spears, "Scream & Shout."[/article] The duo also dropped a [article id="1702009"]remix of the track[/article], adding Diddy, Hit-Boy, Waka Flocka and Lil Wayne to their party.
