The singer's rep opened up to EW about the singer's very much in-the-works follow-up to 2011's Femme Fatale, noting that the Black Eyed Peas frontman will play a role in it. He previously worked with her on her last album, crafting the track "Big Fat Bass," and hooking up again on his latest single, "Scream & Shout."
She's also hit the studio with notable hip-hop producer Hit-Boy. Despite nabbing some studio time with Hit-Boy and will, her rep shot down a rumor that she has worked with songwriter Elijah Blake despite an interview he gave where he opened up about potential tracks he's working on with the pop singer.
The rep added that the album is still in its "early planning stages." Spears first confirmed new music last weekend in a Twitter Q&A with her fans where she wrote, "Working hard. Collaborating with some new inspiring producers. Really focused on my music right now."
The news of will and Brit's latest collaboration shouldn't come as a surprise, as he recently told MTV News he'd "love" to hit the studio with Spears again following their "Scream & Shout" session.
"I would love to work with Britney again," he said. "She has great energy in the studio; she's a sweetheart, a doll of an artist and just a kind, kind person. And when she's in the studio, nothing matters but the music. So that's a great experience to have and share with somebody that loves music."
Little else is known about the project or when it looks like it will get a release date. Considering that Spears' future with the "X Factor" is very much up in the air, she just might have more time to focus on her music again.
