Lady Gaga's Gift To Fans: ARTPOP Doc In Works

On Christmas Day, Mother Monster tweets that she is collaborating with photographer Terry Richardson to chronicle her upcoming album.

Lady Gaga surprised her Little Monsters with an unexpected Christmas gift: The announcement that their Mother is creating a documentary about her upcoming album, ARTPOP.

The pop star tweeted Tuesday that she and fashion photographer Terry Richardson are working on a movie "documenting my life, the creation of ARTPOP + you!"

Her highly anticipated fourth studio album, expected to be released in the spring, is being recorded on the road as she travels the globe for her Born This Way Ball.

"Thank you for being so patient waiting for my new album ARTPOP I hope this gets u excited for things to come," she later added. "I love you with all my heart!"

Mother Monster previously collaborated with the photog on the 2011 photo book "Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson." Gaga gave her close friend a public shout-out Tuesday, tweeting, "i love you @Terry_World thank you for believing in me and my fans, I have looked up to you and your work for so long, its a dream come true!"

On her current world tour, Gaga has been performing her new piano-heavy song "Princess Die." During one show, she gave the audience some insight into the direction of ARTPOP, sharing, "I feel that on the next album, there's a lack of maturity — it's a tremendous lack of maturity or sense of responsibility." In August, she revealed that she is "going for a more stoned disney princess kinda vibe."
