While there are still a slew of yet-to-be-released movies to be excited about in 2012 — like "Django Unchained" and "Les Miserables" — we can't help but think about how 2013 is shaping up to be an even more thrilling year for film fans. One of the films we're most looking forward to is the long-delayed, highly-anticipated sequel to "Anchorman." It might not be released next year, but it will begin shooting in March, so we're still counting it as a film we can be excited about in 2013.
MTV News recently caught up with one of the film's producers, Judd Apatow, who assured us that we shouldn't worry whether the sequel will be as great or as funny as the original.
"Adam McKay and Will Ferrell wrote it, Adam McKay directs it and they came up with the most hilarious script," Apatow said during a sit-down interview pegged to the release of his new comedy, "This Is 40." "We read it a few weeks ago and people were laughing so hard that at about 40 minutes in we all just ran out of gas. It was hard to read the whole thing because we got tired [from laughing]," Apatow explained. "I've never seen anyone delight in playing a character than Will acting like Ron Burgundy all day. He's just so happy doing it it's infectious."
But what are Burgundy and the Channel 4 News team up to in the next installment?
"I can't give it away because it's more secret than the next 'Star Wars.' All I can say is that there are no Wookies in it," Apatow said. "But it's top-secret. You can't give away the Brick jokes."
