From hosting "Saturday Night Live," to headlining the all-male revue of "Magic Mike," to being anointed People's Sexiest Man Alive, 2012 has been a banner year for Channing Tatum, and now the actor is adding one more achievement to this long list: dad-to-be.
The 32-year-old and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum, also 32, are expecting their first child, they confirmed to People.
In an interview last month with People, Tatum opened up about his desire to have a large brood (perhaps knowing something we didn't): "I'm ready; I think she's ready," he said. "The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we'll see where we go after that. It's really easy for us guys to say, 'I want like 15 kids.' Jenna will be like, 'Well you better get another wife!'"
The couple first met on the set of the 2006 dance film "Step Up," tying the knot in 2009 on a private Malibu estate overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Dewan-Tatum most recently appeared on "American Horror Story: Asylum" and shot a pilot for the Lifetime series "The Witches of East End." For his part, Tatum announced in December that he would take a break from acting in 2013 to focus on writing and directing with partner and "Magic Mike" collaborator Reid Carolin. And, apparently, to learn the ropes of fatherhood.
