Turns out, Harry Styles is a pretty sweet guy. The One Direction member gave his rumored girl, Taylor Swift, with a sugary sweet gift as she celebrated her 23rd birthday on Thursday with him in the U.K.
While vacationing with Taylor in his home country of England, Styles decided to pick up 23 cupcakes in honor of Swift's big day. "A lady called us asking if we could supply some cupcakes. I told her we were busting at the seams because of the holidays. She said it was for Harry Styles, and I said, 'Oh, OK, cool. Send him along,' " Matt Blakey, co-owner of Chapelford Village's Custom Cupcake Company, told E! News.
He recalled that while the store usually only sells cupcakes in sets of 12, they made an exception for the singer, only later realizing after a quick Internet search why he needed that specific number of cupcakes in a variety of flavors. "Later, I got a phone call from my wife that Harry Styles was standing on the doorstep," Blakey said. "I didn't think he would come to pick them up."
But, the day wasn't just about sitting around and eating sweets. Sources say that he also took the singer on a little driving tour of the area, including a local golf course as well as the nearby George & Dragon Pub in Great Budworth, where they were spotted laughing over a meal.
In addition to Harry's cupcakes and road trip, Swift also got a major gift from the Hollywood Foreign press Association in the form of a Golden Globe nomination for her "Hunger Games" soundtrack tune, "Safe & Sound." "Best birthday surprise EVER-just found out that Safe&Sound is nominated for a GOLDEN GLOBE!! Thank you @goldenglobes and HFPA! #hungergames," she tweeted on Thursday.
And, as if that wasn't enough, she gave her fans a bit of a birthday present when she premiered her "I Knew You Were Trouble." video with MTV. Sitting down with MTV News' Sway Calloway, she opened up about releasing her 23rd video on her 23rd birthday. "It's like a golden video birthday. I realized that like five minutes ago, when someone told me and now I'm all excited about it," she told MTV News during the latest episode of "MTV First." "I can't believe it lined up like that."
