Critics’ Choice Nominations Led By ‘Lincoln,’ ‘Les Misérables’

'Silver Linings Playbook' comes in at #3 with 10 nominations for the January awards show.

The buzz and excitement surrounding movie-awards season is about to hit a fever pitch, thanks to the announcements of several key nominations this week. In just a couple of days, we’ll have a good idea of which films and individuals are top of mind for select media groups like the Hollywood Foreign Press and more industry guilds like SAG, but today we have a list of the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards nominees to examine and overanalyze.

Presented and voted upon by the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA), the critics made Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” the most nominated film with 13 nods, followed by “Les Misérables” with 11 and “Silver Linings Playbook” with 10. Some award prognosticators claim that these nominations tend to hold more klout within the industry and are often an early indicator of Oscar nominees.
