Exclusive: Lil Wayne To Executive Produce Juelz Santana Album

Santana reveals to 'RapFix Live' that Weezy will oversee his 'Born to Lose, Built to Win' LP next year.

Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne have a ton of collaborations under their belt, even if a bulk of them have gone unheard. While fans are still waiting for the official release of their tag-team [article id="1683873"]I Can't Feel My Face[/article] project, Elz and Weezy are about to take things a step further on the Harlem spitter's long-awaited third solo LP, Born to Lose, Built to Win. Juelz chose "RapFix Live" to make the special announcement.

"I went out to Miami to chop it up with Wayne. I actually asked him to executive produce my album, Born to Lose," Santana revealed Wednesday (December 5) when he sat on the red couch with MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway.

It's been seven years since the Dipset lyricist released his last solo album, What the Game's Been Missing!, in 2005, and while Juelz makes no excuse for the long gap, he is ready to return to rap in a big way. First, Santana will drop two volumes of his upcoming mixtape series, God Willin', the first of which he plans to release in January. After that, it's album time, and working in tandem with Weezy has Juelz super excited.

The two have long talked about releasing a joint mixtape, but after a ton of record leaks and a [article id="1656729"]police raid of Santana's New Jersey studio[/article], the pair were never able to release their highly anticipated I Can't Feel My Face project. No worries: Now they'll just pour their creative energies into Born to Lose.

"Best thing to do is to reach out to [Lil Wayne] and figure out how we can still make it the best thing possible, and I figured to ask him to executive produce my album would be a great thing," he said of his next LP, which will be released through Def Jam Records. "He agreed to it, so that's gonna be coming. That's after the God Willin'."
