Judging by the latest teaser, the three-episode season finale of Lifetime's docu-series "The Houstons: On Our Own" will be one for the books.
The clip, released exclusively to MTV News, shows Bobbi Kristina in her new apartment she shares with Nick Gordon, dressing-down cousin Meeta Brown for delivering the startling news that her father, Bobby Brown, is in town and has requested to see her. But before Meeta suggests that the meeting take place in her new digs, Krissy verbally assaults the messenger.
"He's not," Bobbi says matter-of-factly, irked that her father chose to relay the message that he was in town instead of calling her himself. "But he's not coming here, he's not coming here. I'm sorry, but he's not coming here. So I'll be meeting him somewhere else."
Meeta then begins to ask Nick if he'd accompany Bobbi to meet with the "My Prerogative" singer, but she was met with the same level of reprimand from Whitney Houston's only child.
"Why the f--- would he wanna go and deal with that?" Bobbi fumes, while answering for Nick. "Why? No. I already know he's not going. Nick, it's OK, you can just go back in the room because I can speak for you. He's not going."
Caught in the middle, Meeta then asks why she has to play escort while her cousin and uncle try to mend fences if her new roommate doesn't have to.
"Because you brought the f---ing news over here," Bobbi tells her. "So I'm going with you to do it. I miss him. I wanna see him."
It's been 10 months since the untimely passing of her mother, yet Bobbi's relationship with her troubled patriarch remains dysfunctional at best. According to sources, Bobbi has repeatedly tried to reach out to her father, to no avail. Additionally, rumors abound that Brown's new wife, Alicia Etheredge, is herself a recovering addict and has contributed to the divide between them.
Elsewhere in the clip, Bobbi tells the audience "Since my dad is in town, I know what I have to do."
After a long pause and a deep sigh, Bobbi picks up her iPhone, looks at the entry marked "Daddy," and whispers, "It's worth a shot," before calling him on speakerphone. The teaser ends as the phone is ringing.
Will the Don't Be Cruel vocalist answer the call and take the steps necessary to repair his strained relationship with his daughter? Are the rumors about Bobbi and Nick ending their engagement true? Viewers will have these questions answered and more when they tune in to the see the three back-to-back episodes on the Lifetime network December 5 at 9 p.m ET.
