It's hard to believe that the sun is almost setting on the "Jersey Shore" because with only three more episodes to go, it's almost time to say goodbye to the housemates we have grown to know and love over the years.
The sixth and final season of "Jersey Shore" saw a lot of changes in the house with most of the roommates in serious relationships and Snooki being six months pregnant at the time with her first child, Lorenzo.
Without her partner in crime for this season, Deena Cortese had a hard time adjusting to life on the boardwalk without Snooki, a.k.a. her "meatball," but on Thursday night's episode, the two reunited for a girls' night out.
"I think my struggle was during the first couple episodes I was trying to find a meatball and trying to replace Nicole, and she was there the entire time and we didn't need alcohol," Deena told MTV News. "So I think in these next couple episodes you see us unite and realize we can still be meatballs. ... I think it just shows us on a different level."
They certainly have done a lot of growing up on their time on the "Jersey Shore" and that was evident during Thursday's episode because instead of a long night out at the club, they were throwing a surprise baby shower for Snooki.
"It was hard because we had to stay away from her," Deena said of trying to keep the baby shower a secret from Snooki. "Just like when we would do things she thought we were leaving her, but when we were leaving it was actually because we were doing something for the baby shower and she couldn't really be there so she felt really left out for a little bit but it was OK because in the end it turned out perfect."
Not sure if Snooki would call it "perfect" since there were some uncomfortable moments between her fiancé and Vinny, whom Snooki had hooked up with in previous seasons. Yet, Vinny decided it was time to talk with Jionni and settle their differences, which unfortunately, will unfold in next week's episode, but according to Deena, she tries to stay out of the drama.
"It was awkward because there was so much going on," Deena said. "But at the same time I think it was more awkward for all of them rather than everybody else. I was there to celebrate Lorenzo and Nicole. Honestly, I don't care about the drama."
Besides the drama at the shower there was one other thing: gifts. So who got Snooki the best baby shower gift? None other than their Shore Store boss Danny.
"Danny got her a really expensive bottle of champagne," Deena revealed. "For when she wasn't pregnant."
