I Am Not a Human Being II won't be out until next year, but Lil Wayne is already pumped for his next solo LP.
On Wednesday, Tunechi premiered the psychedelic video for the album's single "No Worries" on MTV and right after sat with MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway at his Miami skating facility to dish on specific tracks from Human Being II.
Weezy has recruited spitters like Drake, Nicki Minaj and Gudda Gudda for the LP as well as partnered up with producers like Detail, Cool & Dre, David Banner and Juicy J. "Juicy J beats are dark and I never rapped on dark music like that," he explained of the Three 6 Mafia veteran's sonic style.
Juice contributed "Itchy," "Walk" and "Trippy Kid," while David Banner, a frequent Wayne collaborator, made the beat for humorously-titled "Sh-- Stains." "I brought my AK, I'm on my a-game, I'ma a-hole leavin' sh-- stains," Wayne rapped, auditioning the song's hook.
During the hour-plus interview, Tune talked up the album with real enthusiasm. He did admit that originally he was looking at the LP as a mere sequel to the 2010 original, but as he began hammering out material, things started to change. "Before I was just lookin' at it like it was going to be a better I Am Not a Human Being," he said. "But now, listening to my album and hearing what we're workin' with, I'm gonna be on tour for some time with this one."
Drake delivers the hook on "Bitches Love Me," a track that also features Future, and Wayne is hoping that Nicki Minaj shows up on the Diplo-produced "Lay it Down." For Wayne, the unreleased track brings him back to the late-'90s work of Timbaland and Missy Elliott, a comparison that he makes cautiously, but confidently. "To me it gives me the vibe or the feeling when Tim and Missy were really in that zone," he described. "I loved it. I killed it. I'm sure Nicki will if she gets a chance to."
