In addition to Pink's recent successes, with her first #1 album debut, another unforgettable VMA performance and heart-wrenching video for The Truth About Love's second single "Try," the creative Grammy winner is embracing a completely different yet equally important role: being a mom.
MTV News was lucky enough to snag a preview clip from Pink's upcoming episode of "Behind the Music," premiering tonight (November 13) at 10 p.m. ET on VH1, and in the preview, she describes the moment she found out she was pregnant and how life immediately changed.
"I had this vision in my head that it would be this moment and I would pee on the stick and the line would appear and I'd come up with this super romantic way of telling [husband] Carey [Hart] about it," Pink recalled. "It was so typical me. The line was so faint that I wasn't sure, I threw it at Carey and said, 'What does it say?' He looked at it and he said, 'You're knocked up.' "
"I was just happy to hear the words," Hart said. "I didn't care how she told me. Finally it was like, 'Oh, yeah, it happened. We're going to have a baby.' "
Their little bundle of joy, Willow Sage Hart, was born June 2, 2011.
"When all the fuss goes away and the nurses leave you alone and I've got my beautiful little bambina in my arms, swaddled in a blanket, it's incredible, it's amazing," Pink said.
"In that moment, my life changed," Hart said, adding that the arrival of Willow has softened his rock-star wife. "She's changed like a light switch. I think overall she's been softened, while the mama-bear nails have been sharpened."
"I've softened, and I think it's perfect," she said. "It's what I needed. I was hoping for a little edge loss."
