One Direction Performing For The Obamas?

According to reports, Michelle Obama has 'personally' asked 1D to perform for her daughters Sasha and Malia at the White House.

Now that Barack Obama has locked up a second term, he's turning his attention to more pressing matters ... like getting One Direction to perform for his daughters.

Yes, according to the U.K.'s Daily Star, the president and First Lady Michelle Obama have extended an invite to 1D, asking them to perform at the White House as a way of saying "thank you" to their daughters for their help during the election.

Both Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, are avowed Directioners, and earlier this year, they even took in a 1D concert in Virginia. The Obama girls also got to hang out with One Direction at the Kid's Choice Awards in March, and Niall Horan has admitted to being a "massive" fan of the commander in chief.

A source close to One Direction told the Star that Michelle Obama "had been in touch personally" with the group, and has extended "an open invitation" for them to visit the First Family whenever their schedule permits. She had previously invited them to perform at the White House's annual Easter Egg Roll, but 1D couldn't attend, due to their busy schedule.

A rep for One Direction did not respond to MTV News' request for comment by press time, though according to the Star the group plan on taking the First Lady up on her invite, which is sure to make Sasha and Malia very happy ... and their friends very jealous.

"It's not every parent who can invite the hottest band in the world to their home," a source told the newspaper. "They will be the envy of girls across the world."
