Rihanna broke her normally feisty onstage character on Saturday night when she took the stage for "Saturday Night Live" and played her Unapologetic ballad, "Stay." The Bajan beauty doesn't often slow it down for her live TV performances, but she did over the weekend, giving fans an emotional preview of her November 19 album release.
Done up in a dress featuring a photo of Bob Marley and red lips, Rih Rih used her touching vocals to prove that not only can she sex up a performance but she can also sing the heck out of one. The dreamy ballad has Rihanna singing about a relationship while piano and guitar punctuate the emotions of the track. She sings, "It's not much of a life you're living/ It's not just something you take that's given."
Later on, the singer makes her plea to her lover, "Round and round and round and round we go/ Now tell me, tell me now, tell me now you know/ Not really sure how to feel about it/ Something in the way you move/ Makes me feel like I can't live without you/ and it takes me all the way/ I want you to stay."
The performance was her latest stop while she was in the Big Apple spreading the message of Unapologetic. She not only performed at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on Thursday night, but on Friday, she hosted an album listening party at mentor Jay-Z's 40/40 Club where she collected supplies to donate to victims of Hurricane Sandy.
