One Direction's Favorite Kiss? Katy Perry, Niall Horan Says

Guys open up to U.K. 'Cosmopolitan' about their love lives and grace the magazine's first all-male cover.

It was the kiss that made headlines back in September. When One Direction singer Niall Horan took the stage to accept one of his three Moonmen at the 2012 VMAs, he got [article id="1693383"]a kiss[/article] — right on the lips — from the one and only Katy Perry.

All these months later that smooch still tops his list of favorite kisses. "Katy Perry. It was amazing and very purple — she had purple lipstick on," he recalls in the December issue of Cosmopolitan U.K. "I don't think there will ever be anything cooler than kissing her... until I marry her maybe!"

But, Perry should take note: Horan isn't into girls who play games and admits "I'm not really a flirt, I just try to be myself. I've got loads of good female friends, like [British singer] Tulisa, but every time I'm pictured with her, people say we're going out. I don't really have a type, but for banter she's brilliant. She loves playing PlayStation. Tulisa is cool as f---."

Niall is not the only one chatting about his love life in the issue. Self-proclaimed "couch potato" Zayn Malik credits his [article id="1695789"]lady love, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards[/article], for making him the man that he is right now. He says, "Yes, I'm a big believer in the motto, 'Behind every great man there's a great woman'. And she's great."

Like Malik, Louis Tomlinson has a special lady in his life and he apparently likes his girls brainy. "She studies politics at university and when she sits and talks about that, I find it really attractive," he said of his girlfriend, Eleanor. "I think it's important for both of you to have independence. I feel like if she didn't have that and wasn't striving for a good career, it'd be weird."

Styles may come off as the group's biggest flirt, but he insists he isn't about loving them and leaving them, crediting growing up in an all-female household for that outlook. "I feel so lucky to be in this position. I'm not entitled to get annoyed [about the image people give me]. I'm not half as busy as they make me out to be! A lot of the time, the way it's portrayed is that I only see women in a sexual way," he says. "But I grew up with just my mum and sister, so I respect women a lot."

However, Styles remains a mystery to his friends. Liam Payne shares that he learns the most from his pal through the press, saying, "Most of the time that's how I find things out! With Harry, everything happens so quickly. Harry is actually quite secretive. He tells us some things, but others he keeps secret."

The guys will appear on one of two covers this month (the other [article id="1696940"]belongs to the Kardashians[/article]). It marks the first all-male cover in the publication's 40-year history. The timing couldn't be more perfect as the guys are set to release their sophomore album, [article id="1696776"]Take Me Home,[/article] On November 13.
