Lil Wayne gave fans a scare this week, when his plane made an emergency landing with reports that he suffered from seizure-like symptoms on board. The YMCMB rapper was treated and released from the hospital and now remains on bed rest. Between sets at the Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia on Friday night, both 2 Chainz and Meek Mill took some time out to address Wayne's health scare.
"I talked to him last night before ya'll heard about anything, so he's straight," 2 Chainz told MTV News, confirming that all was well with his longtime friend and collaborator. "Young money for life--you dig? Get well soon homie. Hit me up," he said, adding a quick message for Wayne.
Meek Mill, who performed an all star set with help from his MMG crew at Powerhouse, admitted that he hadn't spoken to Wayne just yet, but definitely planned on doing so in person. "I didn't get a chance to check in with Lil Wayne, you know he has probably a million people checking in with him at the same time," Meek said. "When I see him I'll make sure he's good. Wayne, thats the homie."
On Friday a rep for Lil Wayne issued a statement to MTV News saying that he simply suffered from a severe migraine and dehydration, but later in the day TMZ reported that he was hospitalized after suffering from a second seizure in Louisiana. Still, Wayne's camp tells MTV News that the reports are being blown out of proportion, maintaining that he is at home on bed rest after dealing with the migraine.
Weey is gearing up to drop his 10th album I Am Not a Human Being II in December with production from Kanye West, Juicy J and David Banner.
