Justin Timberlake And Jessica Biel Get Married

'The ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends,' a rep for the couple tells 'People.'

Ladies and gentlemen: Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have made it official! The longtime couple married in Southern Italy on Friday (October 19) after getting engaged over the 2011 holiday season.

"It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends," a rep for the couple told People magazine. It's the first marriage for both Timberlake and Biel.

Before they wed, the couple were spotted in Italy hanging with friends like Andy Samberg, Biel's "7th Heaven" co-star Beverly Mitchell and music manager Johnny Wright during pre-wedding celebrations kicking off in the days ahead of the "I do's." They had reportedly intended to hold the ceremony in California, not Southern Italy, but scrapped those plans.

In late September, Timberlake and his pals hit up Las Vegas and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for the singer/actor's bachelor party.

"Everyone tells me that being engaged is the really special moment," Biel told the Chicago Sun-Times ahead of the ceremony. "Not that it gets bad when you get married! But being engaged is just absolutely amazing. You're in this romantic, ahhhhh, breathless moment that I'm just trying to extend as long as possible."

Timberlake dished about his lady love on the press run for his flick "Trouble With the Curve," sharing just what makes Biel so irresistible to him. "She's a really, really, really special person," he told reporters back in early October. "Plus, she's really, really, hot!"

The [article id="1676742"]couple got engaged[/article] back in late December when he popped the question with a "custom-designed ring" during a holiday vacation in Jackson, Wyoming. The news of Timberlake and Biel's engagement came just weeks after his ex, Britney Spears, announced she'd be marrying her agent and longtime beau Jason Trawick.

While the pair never released any statements to confirm the reports, [article id="1676819"]Timberlake's grandmother[/article] eventually spilled the beans on their engagement. "The family loves Jessie," Sadie Bomar said at the time. "She's a very sweet girl."

Timberlake and Biel began dating in 2007 and broke up briefly in 2011 before getting back together later that year. In 2011, Timberlake opened up a bit about his feelings for Biel to Vanity Fair. "She is the single-handedly most significant person in my life. In my 30 years, she is the most special person, OK?" he said. "I don't want to say much more, because I have to protect things that are dear to me -- for instance, her."

When asked about having to deal with all the attention the pair have received over the years, Biel told Vogue, "I don't want to talk about it. I don't feel the need to clear anything up. It's the most precious thing that I have in my life, and I care about it so much that I don't care about what anyone says or thinks. I have just not addressed it in any real way, and I'm not going to. It's mine. And I really like that about it."

While the two had always been plagued by rumors -- not only about breakups, but also about engagements -- Biel spoke to French magazine Gala about [article id="1685984"]finally taking the plunge[/article]. "I don't think our marriage will change anything," Biel said. "[But] it will be a challenge finding a balance between my private life, family and work, and I'm ready.

"[I'm] someone who lets things happen naturally," she added. "For me, getting married doesn't mean we should limit ourselves to some pre-defined idea. Rather, it's an opportunity to explore new things in life."
