Robert Pattinson Adds 'Hold Onto Me' To Post-'Twilight' Plans

After 'Breaking Dawn' premieres, we'll still be seeing a lot of RPattz, with roles in 'Rover' and 'Mission: Blacklist.'

Although Robert Pattinson's work in "The Twilight Saga" is complete, we all know that we'll be seeing plenty more of the British heartthrob's acting chops on the big screen. The busy man just added another film to his roster, a drama called "Hold Onto Me," for which Pattinson will play a supporting role opposite Carey Mulligan.

The film is based on a true story that revolves around a femme fatale who, with her boyfriend, hatches a plot to kidnap and ransom their town's richest man, Deadline reports. The two opportunists follow through with their plot and things go horribly awry when they decide to bury him in a box. Pattinson will reportedly play the "flashy supporting role" of the woman's lifelong love Jimmy, who isn't involved in the crime.

The film was written by up-and-coming screenwriter Brad Ingelsby and will be directed by critically acclaimed filmmaker James Marsh, who won an Oscar for the documentary "Man on Wire," which he followed with the well-received doc "Project Nim."

"Hold Onto Me" is scheduled to go into production in 2013, which is shaping up to be a busy year for Pattinson, as the 26-year-old has several other noteworthy projects in the works. First up is the futuristic western "Rover," opposite Guy Pearce, followed by the hunt-for-Saddam-Hussein pic "Mission: Blacklist," which Pattinson told us he hopes to shoot on location in Iraq.

"The director's there now," he said about the early scouting done by Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire. "And I want to do it there. But, yeah, obviously it's quite difficult to shoot there, but I think it's a fascinating country. And the director's been sending me pictures of just the original, the actual palaces where the U.S. army was based and they're beautiful. They're stunning. They look like [Stanley] Kubrick sets and they're all just empty, just sitting there."
