If you needed extra incentive to tune in to "The X Factor," Justin Bieber will make his mentoring debut when the contestants visit the judges' homes in all-new episodes airing this week. The "Boyfriend" singer will also be joined by previously rumored mentor Nick Jonas, Marc Anthony and will.i.am.
The Boot Camp round of the show draws to a close this week, and the contestants are whittled down to reveal the top 24 for the beginning of the "judges' homes" round. Each judge is assigned to one of the to-be-announced new season two categories (like last year's men, women, over 30 and groups), after which the remaining contestants will find out who their mentors are.
Bieber and his manager, Scooter Braun, will be mentoring judge L.A. Reid's hopefuls; Jonas will be paired with Demi Lovato; will.i.am is with Britney Spears; and Marc Anthony is with Simon Cowell.
"I'm lucky to have some incredible mentors in my life, and I've always valued their opinions greatly," Jonas said in a statement from Fox. "Being able to provide guidance for another artist, while working with the incredibly talented 'X Factor' team, was an amazing experience. There's some extraordinary talent out there and I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of their journey."
Black Eyed Peas hitmaker will.i.am., who has been a guest mentor on "American Idol," added that all it took was the request from Spears herself to get him to say yes to appearing on "X Factor." "When Britney asked me to come help mentor talent in the 'judges' homes' round, it was an easy 'yes,' " he said. "Some of the talent I've seen so far has blown me away — they're out-of-this-world good."
"I am really excited to have the opportunity to mentor the 'X Factor' contestants," Anthony added. "And I am looking forward to seeing them advance in the show's new season."
The "judges' homes" round begins Wednesday and continues next week.
