While the dueling divas on "American Idol" are busy working out their differences, the original "Idol" superstar, Kelly Clarkson, was busy having a hugs-and-kisses online summit with "X Factor" judge Britney Spears on Thursday night.
Britney started the lovefest when she tweeted about the show-stopping sing-off between teen "Factor" boot camp contestants Diamond White, 13, and Dinah Jane Hansen, 15, who traded intense runs on Clarkson's hit "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" during Thursday night's head-to-head singing episode.
Reacting to the segment taped several months ago, Spears tweeted, "@Kelly_Clarkson I hope you're watching girl! 2 beautiful, STRONG ladies singing Stronger!"
Clarkson, who is prepping her first greatest hits collection for release on November 19, wrote Spears back a bit later, saying, "@britneyspears Just saw it on YouTube and Diamond & Dinah did awesome! Such young girls & already so talented! Tell them great job from me!"

Indeed, both high schoolers killed it. While Hansen came out a bit tentative and nervous and fumbled the lyrics initially, she found her footing on the stripped-down take of the tune, while pint-sized powerhouse White slayed the judges again with her Whitney Houston-sized vocals. Judge L.A. Reid called the performance "genius," giving White extra credit for what he described as her brilliant decision to finish the song crouched down on her knees on the lip of the stage right in front of the judges.
"She wants this. Look at her," Demi Lovato said of a dejected Hansen when Reid wondered if once-a-choker-always-a-choker applied to the singer.
