Five Reasons Khloe Kardashian Belongs On 'X Factor'

Kardashian and Mario Lopez are rumored to be announced as the show's new co-hosts this week.

Mario Lopez and Khloé Kardashian are set to be announced as the new hosts of "X Factor" this week, according to TMZ, filling the spot left vacant by one-season wonder Steve Jones.

While it's clear why Lopez will make for a stellar emcee — thanks to his years of hosting "Extra" and MTV's own "America's Best Dance Crew" (not to mention "Pet Star"!) — some "Factor" fans might be worried that Khloé doesn't have the résumé or the, ahem, "X factor" to fulfill her duties alongside her more experienced co-host. But what she's accomplished in her career so far proves otherwise:

Sugar and Spice ... and More Spice

One might argue that the Kardashians have the "X Factor" based solely on the fact that they continue to keep America entertained just by being themselves. Anyone who has caught an episode of the many Kardashian-related series, including "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," "Khloé & Lamar" and "Kourtney & Khloé Take Miami," knows Khloé is a standout among the sisters. She tends to be the gutsiest, bluntest and most straightforward of the trio, even taking on momager Kris Jenner time after time.

Lights, Camera, (Live) Action!

Khloé can handle live TV and has done it on a number of occasions. While it might seem like she's only interesting thanks to reality-TV editing, as one of the faces of the Kardashian brand, she has appeared on QVC several times to sell Kardashian-designed clothing on the network. Her cameos are always funny and off-the-cuff.

On Her Own

Khloé has built a brand outside her family. As the host of two radio programs, one in Miami and one later in Dallas dubbed "The Mix Up With Khloé Kardashian Odom," Khloé is expanding her brand to include many roles in the world of broadcasting. Those credits also include a solo 2009 stint on "Celebrity Apprentice." She was fired by the Donald after he learned she skipped a competition to go to a mandatory DUI class.

Simply put, she loves the show. Back in August, just as rumors of the "Factor" gig began to bubble up, Kardashian told MTV News that she not only watches the show, but that joining Simon Cowell and the crew fits in with her ultimate career goals. "I've always wanted to do hosting or talk-show hosting, so it's definitely something that I would love to do and would be honored to do," she said. "To be on such a huge show like that with those judges, I would have so much fun doing that."

Above all things, she has Simon's blessing. When Cowell sat down with Ellen DeGeneres last month, he noted that Khloé was definitely at the top of his list, pending network approval. "We have screen-tested a load of people. ... It could be a Kardashian. I think that would work. I'm quite a fan of not putting [experienced] hosts on this show," he said. "Because I think it's going to give it a different dynamic. So we have to find people who have a great chemistry, but Khloé is definitely up there in [the] running."
