Victoria Justice For All! 'Victorious' Star Explains Patriotic Pic

'People were starting to stare at me,' she tells MTV News of her Instagram photo dressed as the Statue of Liberty.

Victoria Justice wears many hats. She's an actress, singer and ... Statue of Liberty impersonator? (Cue record scratch.) Well, maybe not that last part, but if you follow the "Victorious" star's Instagram, you might understand our confusion.

Earlier this summer, she posted a photo of herself draped in an American flag, holding a torch and wearing a patriotic crown similar to the one worn by Lady Liberty herself. So what exactly was the 19-year-old starlet doing in the red, white and blue ensemble (besides bringing a whole new meaning to "with liberty and justice for all")?

"I was in New York doing — I don't remember what I was doing, press for something, interviews and meetings and stuff — and whenever I have to work, I like to be able to explore the city I'm in as well and have some fun," Justice told MTV News when promoting her new movie, "Fun Size." "So there was a guy on the street dressed up like the Statue of Liberty with some sunglasses looking pretty cool, and I was like, 'That looks like a fun time!' "

But there's no fooling a "Victorious" fan: Even disguised in stars and stripes, she was spotted among the Big Apple's tourists almost immediately.

"My mom takes millions of pictures, so of course, I was standing there in this getup for like 10 minutes, and people were starting to stare at me," she said. "A few kids and teens and stuff were like, 'Oh wait, that's that girl! That's Victoria!' And I was like, 'Hey, guys, don't mind me being the Statue of Liberty.' "
