Justin Bieber Addresses ‘A Lot’ In New Book — Even Paternity Scandal

In 'Just Getting Started,' out Thursday, singer wants to 'prove people wrong' ... including Mariah Yeater.

September is shaping up to be a big month for Justin Bieber. He is prepping to hit the road on his Believe world tour and just locked in his video for “Beauty and the Beat” with Nicki Minaj. But, that’s not all, and the title of his new book says it all.

“Just Getting Started,” Bieber’s second book, hits stores Thursday. And the singer is planning on getting just as person as he did in 2010′s “Justin Bieber: First Step 2 Forever: My Story,” where he opened up about his road to fame. The pop star told his Twitter followers that he’s even addressing the paternity suit brought against him in late 2011. “The new book #JustGettingStarted hits stores this week. got a lot to say in there. even about [Mariah] YEATER,” he wrote on Monday.

This is hardly the first time that Bieber has opened up about the headline-making incident, during which he was accused of fathering a child with the fan. The suit was later dropped but became the subject of his 2012 track, “Maria.”

Bieber is set to talk about the book in an interview airing this week on two NBC programs, “Today” and “Rock Center With Brian Williams.”

In an interview about the book with Ryan Seacrest, Bieber said he wants to rise above his teen heartthrob status. “I feel like I just don’t want to be another teen heartthrob,” he says in the interview airing September 13. “I just think that that just annoys me. To think that’s what people will — will think of me — or, like, I just want to prove people wrong.”

In the chat, he also talks about being raised by his teen mom and overcoming those struggles. “There were so many struggles that she had to go through to be able to raise me, as an 18-year-old girl,” he said. “You know, so I couldn’t imagine raising a child now. So I give my mom — you know, kudos to you, Mom … because I was not easy.”
