The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards had a little bit of something to love for all pop culture aficionados out there. Sure, there were spectacular performances from the likes of Taylor Swift, One Direction, Pink and more and some awesome wins for Chris Brown and Rihanna, among others.
But there was also a final sneak peek at the November 16 release of the final film in the "Twilight Saga," [article id="1693372"]"Breaking Dawn - Part 2."[/article]
The [article id="1693380"]trailer[/article] featured a lot of new information about the last film in the franchise, including a deeper look at the Cullen family as Edward and Bella adjust to life as new parents, some of the strife they will face as they battle the Volturi and, of course, just how adorable Mackenzie Foy is as little Renesmee.
Oh, yeah, it also features one fierce fight with Kristen Stewart in full-on vampire mode attacking a mountain lion. It was a moment that had Amanda Belcher, a writer for TwilightMoms, going meow.
"I'm so glad we got to see Bella hunting! I think that's one thing fans — and myself — have been dying to see. I also loved the additional face time for some of the new vampires [Guri Weinberg, Noel Fisher, Lee Pace] and the quick shot of Dakota Fanning as Jane," she told MTV News. "I'm dying to see how the final confrontation happens in the movie [as] compared to the book because every clip of that scene in the trailer looks awesome, especially the new part where Edward and Bella fight together at the end of the trailer."
Laura Byrne-Cristiano, the co-founder of Twilight Lexicon, expressed her reaction to some of the teased battle sequences expected to catch fans' eyes come November as the Cullens fight for their little girl.
"I think it's pretty clear that 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' is building to be the climax of the series. We've come such a long way from the low-budget original film. I think I still have the same expectation, and the fact that Bill Condon is the director doesn't make me doubt the quality of the end product at all. I think he equally delivered action and emotion in the last film," she said. "The biggest thing on my mind now is how does this battle all fit in? Is it a nightmare, a vision or an actual event, because that answer will really change the ending of the story."
Shortly after the trailer got its big debut at the VMAs, fans hit the MTV News website to share their excitement ahead of the film's release.
"Awesome! i hate all the changes through the entire franchise but this looks like it might make up for that! in the books it never came to blows," Liz shared on Hollywood Crush.
"Loved this final 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' trailer. Can't wait for the movie to come out on Nov. 16th, 2012," mycatiscosta added. "Wish it was earlier."
In the end, this film may finally put to rest the long-standing Team Edward or Team Jacob fan rivalry. koularakouli has picked sides and is not afraid to show it. "Wow! i am dying to watch the movie!!!!!!!!!!"
she wrote. "Team Edward!"
