Lil Wayne sure is hungry. The New Orleans rhyme animal has accomplished just about every major feat in music and he still wants more. Between Drake's five VMA noms, Nicki's pair and Weezy's nod in the Best Video With a Message category, Young Money figures to have a big night during the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on September 6 — yet, Tunechi isn't satisfied.
"The competitive person I am, it makes me feel great, awesome, excited and all that ... but overall, it makes me feel undone," Lil Wayne told MTV News while he was out promoting his new line of [article id="1692161"]sneakers[/article] in Las Vegas on August 20.
The past 12 months have been remarkable for the YMCMB camp. After closing out last year's VMAs, Wayne immediately released his highly anticipated Tha Carter IV to the tune of approximately 1 million units sold in its first week. Drake then pushed out his now-platinum sophomore LP, Take Care, in November, spawning a number of hit singles like "The Motto," "Headlines" and "HYFR."
Young Money's reign continued in 2012 when Tyga put out his Careless World album and Nicki dropped her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded long-player in April. YMCMB attacked the charts, launched successful tours and delivered eye-popping music videos, but still, Lil Wayne looks to do better. "It's a whole lot of unfinished business," he said.
It's anyone's guess what Weezy has planned for the future of his team, but on Thursday, he and DJ Drama plan to drop the fourth installment of their critically acclaimed Dedication mixtape series.
The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
