And baby makes three: Snooki and Jionni LaValle welcomed Lorenzo Dominic into the world just before 3 a.m. Sunday (August 26), with the new mommy tweeting that she's "SO IN LOVE" with her bundle of joy. But the love between the "Jersey Shore" star and her fiancé had long been blossoming before his arrival.
Back in September 2010, Snooki sat down with David Letterman and opened up about life in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, adding that she was "unfortunately" single.
"I'm a very sweet girl, I'm loving. I like to go out and have fun but I cannot find that perfect gorilla juicehead," she said. "So now I'm thinking more to go to a business guy or Wall Street or something, change it up a little bit. Why not?"
Months later, Snooki met Jionni — who doesn't work on Wall Street — and they were soon dating. "Jersey Shore" fans were treated to a close look at the budding couple's relationship, as Jionni, a gym teacher, frequently stopped by the "Shore" house to chill with Nicole and her roomies. But the first test of their love wasn't far off. When the gang headed to Italy to film season four of the show in Florence, the pair had to figure out how to keep the romance going.
"It sucked," Snooki admitted in an August 2011 interview, when MTV News asked about being apart from her new boyfriend. "From being with him six months, every single day, to not being with him, being in another country and not talking to him, it was hard. It was legit like a long-distance relationship.
"As of right now, we're together and in love, and we're getting married someday," she added. (The star clearly had a sense that Jionni might be The One.)
By early 2012, Snooki was thinking seriously about a future with her beau. "I want [babies and marriage] when I'm 26," the 24-year-old revealed. "I'm just warning [Jionni]: two years. I'm just putting it out there, just letting him know."
In March, the couple announced they had hit the gas on Snooki's two-year plan, telling the world that they were not only engaged but also expecting their first baby. We quickly caught up with the owner of the New Jersey jewelry store B&B Jewelers, Ben Bekdas, who told us that Jionni had worked with him to design the $55,000 engagement ring he proposed to Snooki with.
"[Snooki] was here a couple months ago, about three months ago," Bekdas said at the time. "She was here for her birthday, actually, and she was looking for bangles and she was giving him some hints, like certain types of stuff that she would like. So Jionni came in about a couple months ago; he came in looking at engagement rings. He basically came up with a certain design that she liked in some of the rings."
Shortly after Nicole announced her engagement news, she let fans know she'd have her baby before walking down the aisle. The mommy-to-be was also thinking about baby names, but her lips were sealed about which ones were on the list.
As for marriage plans, when Snooki gave us an update in April, she admitted, "I mean, I do have a dream wedding. But I definitely don't even want to talk about it or think about it because I'm not even ready for it yet. I just want my baby first."
In May, Nicole and Jionni confirmed they were having a boy. As the couple prepared for Lorenzo's arrival, Snooki opened up about their love on her "Jersey Shore" spin-off, "Snooki & JWOWW," which premiered on MTV earlier this summer.
With a new season of the "Jersey Shore" slated to premiere in October and a new season of "Snooki & JWOWW" already in the works, it seems safe to assume baby Lorenzo (and dad Jionni) will bring even more fun to the "JS" family!
