After weeks and weeks of romance rumors, Katy Perry and John Mayer were photographed together at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

The twosome got into Mayer's black SUV, after they reportedly had dinner together inside the famed L.A. hotspot. Perry was photographed in his ride wearing a little white lace dress, with [article id="1690408"]her hair short and black[/article]. As for Mayer, he was sporting an army jacket and black T-shirt. While the rumors about the pair began to heat up back in June, after they reportedly hung out together at the Soho House in West Hollywood, this marks the first time they have been photographed together.

An eyewitness tells Usmagazine.com that it appeared to be more than just a friendly dinner, sharing that the pair was holding hands across the table.

In addition to the Wednesday night dinner and their meeting at Soho House earlier this summer, Mayer and Perry reportedly had a pizza night at her house back in June. The site adds that this might be the two singers' second chance at love with one another: They allegedly first met right before the 2009 VMAs, but Perry ended up falling for the show's host, Russell Brand.

With Perry/Mayer's romantic status is still to be determined, in the [article id="1690961"]September issue of Elle[/article], Perry opens up about finding love and marriage again after her divorce from Brand. "I'm a woman who likes to be courted, strongly. Never say never, I guess you'd say," the magazine's cover girl says in the issue, which hits newsstands August 14. "I'll let love take the lead on that."

Earlier this year, the newly single Perry had been romantically linked to [article id="1683664"]Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd[/article], but they [article id="1685522"]split in May[/article], though rumors had them back together again in June.

The [article id="1690825"]VMA-nominated singer[/article] and Brand [article id="1689730"]finalized their divorce[/article] last month.
