Carly Rae Jepsen Squashes Sex Tape Rumors

'Call Me Maybe' singer calls sex-tape claims 'ridiculous.'

Carly Rae Jepsen has taken to her Twitter account to let fans know that a sex tape floating around with a young woman who bears a striking resemblance to her isn’t the real deal.

Stills from the alleged sex tape appeared on Perez Hilton’s website Monday. The site reports that the video includes the Jepsen look-alike in several sex acts while Katy Perry’s “E.T.” plays in the background. But Jepsen wants to assure fans that the girl sporting Jepsen’s signature blunt bangs is not her.

“Crazy morning. Discovered that someone put up a sex tape claiming to be me,” she wrote on Twitter shortly after the stills appeared online. “Ridiculous. Obviously not me.”

This isn’t the first time Jepsen has been attached to nude images on the Internet. Naked photos of model Destiny Benedict began to circulate earlier this month, and much like in the case of the sex tape, Benedict’s hairdo had many fans believing the woman in the photos was the “Call Me Maybe” singer. Benedict owned up to being the girl in the snapshots on Twitter, writing, “being mistaken for carly Rae.”

For her part, Jepsen released a statement through her rep denying the photos were of her, noting, “This is 200% NOT Carly.” The rep added that her label was looking to handle any cease-and-desist cases.

While the sex tape isn’t legit, Jepsen did release a real video Tuesday (July 24). She dropped her camping-themed clip for the Owl City duet “Good Time.” In it, the twosome chill out in the woods with their pals, dancing, drinking slushies and belting out their feel-good track.
