The black-and-white photo features a fully nude Mother Monster wearing a black mask, with tiny men climbing up her body, strategically placed to cover her more scandalous parts. Shot by famed fashion photographer Steven Klein, the ad's tagline reads, "The First Ever Black Eau de Parfum."
i won't lie I'm a bit nervous. its been a while since i've shared some work with you. But i'm so proud of Steven+I, we really did not sleep!— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) July 16, 2012
Gaga previously worked with Klein in 2010 on her "Alejandro" video. He has worked quite extensively with Madonna on video clips for several of her tours and shot Rihanna for her Armani campaign.
Prior to tweeting the image, Gaga shared her nerves with her millions of followers, writing, "i won't lie I'm a bit nervous. its been a while since i've shared some work with you. But i'm so proud of
Steven+I, we really did not sleep!"
Back in June, Gaga shared with her Little Monsters the [article id="1687383"]bottle for Fame[/article], due out in September. The deep purple and black packaging for the perfume even included a very Gaga-esque description of what it will smell like when it hits stores. The description explained that the fragrance has notes of "tears of belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops."
In addition to that description, Gaga offered another, even more colorful one when she opened up about the perfume back in 2011.
Sharing that it would smell "like an expensive hooker," she added, "[Blood and semen] is in the perfume but it doesn't smell like it. You just get sort of the after feeling of sex from the semen and the blood is sort of primal. And the blood was taken from my own blood sample so it's like a sense of having me on your skin."
September is set to be a big month for Gaga. In addition to appearing on the cover of fashion bible Vogue, she will also announce the name of her [article id="1686922"]highly anticipated next album release[/article].
