SAN DIEGO — At long last, we will get to meet vampire Bella when “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” hits theaters later this year. Fans have had to wait four long movies to finally see Bella Swan in her sparkly undead form, and now Bill Condon is going to make it worth their while.
Kristen Stewart admitted to MTV News at Comic-Con that she was excited to have “arrived” and be able to take on some of the physically extreme roles that she previously was unable to perform. When we caught up with Taylor Lautner later that day, he acknowledged that Stewart did get to throw him around a bit in this movie. He detailed the day they filmed the scene where Bella finds out that his character, Jacob, imprinted on her newborn daughter, Renesmee, and was not too happy about it.
“I think it was just one day [of shooting]. So it was a long day of being tossed around in the backyard, but it was fun,” Lautner said. “Kristen is impressive in it. I think the fans will love her chucking me across the yard and stuff. It’s a hilarious scene.”
Though he managed to make it out of the shoot without any major bumps or bruises, the entire scene was shot without any help from stunt men or wiring. Stewart would just shove Lautner around, he would be forced to portray himself being thrown back by her new vampire strength, and that ended up being one of his most fun days on set.
“There was zero [wires], it was all real,” Lautner said. “I won’t give specifics, but yeah there were no harnesses. I definitely had to fling myself and take a few hard landings, but it was fine. It made for a good scene.”
