Call it Namibian chic! Charlize Theron was spotted sporting her buzz cut without a hat for the first time while making her way around the African country, where she is shooting her latest film, "Mad Max: Fury Road."
In a new photo, Theron was snapped rocking the buzzed-about haircut with a casual look, donning a red long-sleeved tee while holding her adopted son, Jackson, and giving photographers a big smile. Theron joins a laundry list of female A-listers who have chopped off all their hair for a movie role, including Anne Hathaway, who recently buzzed off her hair for "Les Misérables."
Theron lopped off her famous long blond locks to play Furiosa, whose signature look includes being a near cue ball. Production on "Mad Max: Fury Road" had been long delayed, and Theron explained that she was ready to cut her hair off to finally get the chance to play her.
"We've had a lot of time to talk about it, and we had some rehearsal time when we were going to [shoot the movie]," she told MTV News earlier this year about finally hitting the set. "I think it's been good. I think you have to find the positive about something like this, waiting that long to do a film."
In another interview, Theron added that now was as good a time as any to shave it all off. "It's been three years: It's time to skin this cat already!" Theron said. "I'm very excited about it."
The film also stars Tom Hardy, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough and Zoe Kravitz.
