Usher, Kelly Clarkson Added To Billboard Music Awards Performer List

Nelly Furtado and Linkin Park will also perform on May 20 show from Las Vegas.

The Lineup for the May 20 Billboard Music Awards got a fuel-injection on Tuesday (May 1) when Kelly Clarkson, Usher, Linkin Park and Nelly Furtado were added to the performer Lineup.

The show, which will air on ABC from the MGM Grand Arena, was already slated to feature songs from Justin Bieber, LMFAO, The Wanted 
, Carrie Underwood and Cee Lo Green.

In no coincidence at all, the show will come just as many of the headliners are preparing to drop new albums, including Usher (Looking at Myself, June 12), Furtado, (The Spirit Indestructible, June 19), Bieber (Believe 
, June 19) and Park, (Living Things, June 26). More acts and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks for the show that will be co-hosted by “Modern Family” stars Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell.

The night’s leading finalists 
 include Adele, Rihanna, LMFAO, Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne, with Adele in the lead in 18 award categories, followed by LMFAO with 17, Rihanna with 13 and Gaga and Wayne with 10 each.

The awards are based on Billboard‘s chart rankings, and combine data from album sales and downloads, track downloads, radio airplay and touring in addition to streaming and social interactions with fans on Facebook, Twitter, Vevo, YouTube, Spotify and other popular online music services.

Top Artist: Adele, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, Rihanna.

Top New Artist: Bad Meets Evil, Big Sean, Foster the People, Scotty McCreery and Wiz Khalifa.

Top Male Artist: Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Drake, Lil Wayne, Bruno Mars

Top Female Artist: Adele, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

Top Duo/Group: Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Lady Antebellum, LMFAO and Maroon 5.

Top Billboard 200 Album: Adele 21, Michael Bublé Christmas, Drake Take Care, Lady Gaga Born This Way and Lil Wayne Tha Carter IV.

Top Pop Album: Adele 19, Adele 21, Michael Bublé Christmas, Lady Gaga Born This Way and Justin Bieber Under the Mistletoe.
