Amanda Bynes Arrested For DUI

Actress determined to be under the influence after minor accident with LA police officer.

Amanda Bynes was arrested in Los Angeles early Friday morning (April 6) on a misdemeanor driving under the influence charge after reportedly getting into a minor accident with a Los Angeles Police Department officer.

According to TMZ, Bynes' bail has been set at $5,000 and she is reportedly still in police custody.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department report indicates that the "What a Girl Wants" actress was attempting to pass a police car as it prepared to make a right turn at around 3 a.m. in West Hollywood when her black BMW collided with the right rear panel of the police cruiser, causing minor damage to both vehicles.

The 26-year-old actress was last featured in Emma Stone's hit 2010 comedy "Easy A." A few months before the film's release, she declared on Twitter that she didn't enjoy performing anymore and planned to retire from acting. Her retirement lasted all of 35 days, as she tweeted in late July of 2010 that she was "unretired."

More recently, on March 7, TMZ reports the actress was also pulled over for allegedly talking on her cellphone while driving but then allegedly left the scene before the officer could finish writing her ticket. She was not arrested and later that day visited the police station to sign her ticket.

Further details about Bynes' arrest have not yet been made available.
