Jermaine Jones To Be Booted From 'American Idol'?

Singer will be disqualified for not reporting two prior arrests.

He was on, then off, then on and now he seems to be headed home again. The seesaw ride of "American Idol" top 12 finisher Jermaine Jones appears to have run out after producers found out this week that the deep-voiced singer apparently misled them about his criminal past.

TMZ is reporting that Jones will be let go on Wednesday night's performance broadcast after producers discovered on Tuesday that he allegedly concealed the fact that he was arrested twice last year-- including once for an incident that involved violence-- and has outstanding warrants. The Pine Hill, New Jersey, vocal instructor, who was brought back from elimination by the judges, also allegedly lied to police by giving them false names both times he was arrested.

In a tweet that has since been deleted, Jones, 25, appeared to confirm the news on Tuesday, writing, "Awww I will no longer b on the show." His official "Idol" Twitter account has also been deleted. A spokesperson for "Idol" could not be reached for comment at press time.

Jones was in the bottom three last week after he sang Stevie Wonders' "Knocks Me Off My Feet."

The towering singer is just the latest "Idol" finalist to run afoul of producers for his rap sheet. During season two, Corey Clark was booted for concealing his arrest record on battery charges, as was semifinalist Jared Andrews, who was sent home over undisclosed assault charges.
